Minimium Requirements of All Lifeguards
2008 Lifeguard Training Information
In 2008 Pool Management Group will train students who are hired at Job Fairs in Bulgaria to be Lifeguards before they come to the U.S.A. to work. The 2008 Lifeguard training will be conducted by Certified Instructors in Sofia during February, March and April.
Class Prerequisites:
- The student must be able to dive to a depth of three (3) meters and retrieve a submerged object.
- Swim 50 meters with a rescue tube and 50 meters without a rescue tube. (100 meters total)
- Tread water for one (1) minute without using their hands. (Legs Only)
Cost:
- $175.00 US Currency - Includes Lifeguard Uniform and Certification.
- $175.00 will be refunded to the student at the end of the summer as long as the student works through the end date as listed on the Employee Agreement.
- If a student fails the swim test, we will offer the student a place in a future class or issue a full refund..
Class Dates:

Class Details:
- The Lifeguard class is up to 22 hours and involves swimming pool instruction and classroom work.
- Classes are instructed in English. The final written exam is in English.
- Classes will begin Friday at approximately 12:00 noon and finish on Sunday by 6:00 pm.
- Class size is limited to 40 students.
- The exact location of the pool and classroom in Sofia and Plovdiv will follow.
Other information:
- Students who do not receive a VISA or are denied entry to the U.S.A. will be refunded the balance of the training and uniform deposit. (minus any fees)
- When students travel to the U.S.A., they will fly directly to the city in which they will work.
Attend company General Staff meeting and complete curriculum
Our General Staff Meeting helps to train employees in all responsibilities of being a lifeguard. Such responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Safety of All Patrons at Facility
- Cleanliness of Facility
- Cleanliness of Pool
- Chemical Balance of Pool
Attend and Pass In-Season Safety Checks
We ensure our lifeguards are the best out there. During the summer, there will be unannounced Safety Checks to help keep our guards skills sharp. These safety checks will test your skills in all aspects of lifeguarding safety, CPR, and First Aid.
